Kensington SmartFit Easy Riser Cooling Stand – Grey : Great for those who want use a full size keyboard with their notebook computer
Good price and does the job. . My boyfriend is the computer fiend, and this stand is just the thing. He always used to complain about his neck hurting, and this seems to have stopped that as his posture is now changed while he is ‘surfing the net’.
For the offer price pretty good and it’s a fairly robust design but it. For the offer price pretty good and it’s a fairly robust design but it doesn’t raise the lap top up to an ideal eye level viewing height. One issue is that the lid/screen on my new dell does not open to 180 degrees horizontal. This means you have to lower the stand to get the screen at the correct angle. I wonder if the manufacturers checked this basic point out before they made them. I bought one each for the family and now have two unused.
Ideal for your laptop when you want it up off the desk when using a keyboard & screen.
Absolutely essential for your back. If you use a laptop to write, for goodness sake use one of these with a separate keyboard and mouse. Otherwise your neck is at an angle that can only lead to trouble.

I have tried a good few laptop risers/stands, but this is by far the best i’ve had. All the others had adjustable height fittings, but could just never get me the exact height i wanted. I was forever getting a sore neck & back from leaning/hunching over my laptop and i couldn’t stand it any more. So i decided to browse amazon and see what i could find. This stand has the benefits of being adjustable in height from quite low, to really quite high. It also has, as you can see from the pictures, little cut out sections to allow air to circulate around the bottom of your laptop and thus by enabling your laptop to stay cooler and avoid it overheating. It comes with instructions on how to adjust the height, and what heights are suitable for whichever situation you may be in. However i just picked the height i found the most comfortable for me. After all, each person is different and we all have our own individual likes & dislikes, so why should adjusting the height of the stand always be set to whatever the manufacturer thinkss is most suitable.
I bought this to help my poor laptop cope with the hotter weather we’ve had this year – to get some more air circulating underneath to prevent overheating and also to improve my posture whilst using it. It worked well with my older style 17″ laptop but with my new lighter and slimmer 17″ laptop i find that the front ‘shelf’ is just a little too small and the laptop tends to slip off at times. Not dangerously so, just inconvenient at times. The height adjustable function works well, though and has a good range.
Actually purchased for my son.
Allows my laptop to screen to be at eye level, relieving and preventing further neck and back problem. However, one tip before buying, it works well if you have big space table as you would need a place to use an external keyboard.
A much easier angle to type at.
Still a very sturdy and well designed product. I bought this for travel and using on small hotel room tables and because i use a wireless keyboard. It folds away perfectly so that you can put it in your travel bag, may be a bit too bulky and big for a laptop bag. Still a very sturdy and well designed product. I would have liked to have more choice when it comes to the tilt angle but that’s just nit picking.
Bought this for husband, havnt heard him complain.
Perfect for when all you have is an external mouse. Perfect for when all you have is an external mouse and keyboard and want to use your laptop as a “desktop”. Holds the laptop in place easily and i never slides off. Could be a bit better if it had an extra height option.
Great to help relieve back pain from stooping to low. Does the job – laptop sits solidly on it. Great to help relieve back pain from stooping to low viewing screen.
Easy to state p entry of positions. Easy to state pentry of positions.
Sometimes it seems a bit fiddly – the gripper doesn’t always grip straight away. But once tight it is secure.
Just be careful in airports to have it out of your bag. There is a metal piece in it that looks suspicious – which means they need to x-ray it again.
Couldn’t have asked for more. . Does exactly what i had hoped for. Other reviews seem to complain about the stand falling down but i haven’t experienced this. I bought another for home after liking the one i had in the office. My laptop is thin though, and so had no issue about it slipping over the edge.
I have reciieved this stand and had a little setting up as i had a hard protector which i have to remove as my mac book screen wouldn’t sit straight, i find it a little high but hopefully i will get used to it. Has any used this stand with a macbook pro 13 inch.
Great for those who want use a full size keyboard with their notebook computer. Good value for money and idea for elevating my laptop screen so i can use it with an extra keyboard. I work from home two days a week using a 13′ laptop provided by my employer and i don’t really want to use the massive additional monitor they’ve provided as i mostly work at the kitchen table – this riser is the perfect solution; i don’t have to hunch over a tiny notebook computer any more and i can use a full-size keyboard. The stand is much more stable and robust that it feels and is easily adjustable. My laptop fits it perfectly but i’m guessing it would be ok with a slightly larger machine too. It folds up nice and flat for storage too. I’m not sure why it’s described as a cooling stand – that isn’t really what it’s for. It’s a riser rather than a cooler.
No more docking stations for me. I was doubtful about this solution as a replacement for an expensive dock, but it is working really well. I have my laptop and monitor working perfectly side-by-side thanks to this stand, and a wireless mouse/keyboard complete the package. And it’s saved my a bucketload of money by removing the need for the docking station.
This helped a lot with keeping the laptop at a better angle for use whilst sitting up in. As i was bed bound due to a recent surgery, this helped a lot with keeping the laptop at a better angle for use whilst sitting up in bed.
