Quay Furniture Set Woodcraft Construction Kit FSC, Great Value for the Money

Quay Furniture Set Woodcraft Construction Kit FSC, Great Value for the Money

Quite small and some bits pieces were a bit crooked when made up but we had fun making them 😀.

Bought this to go in my grand-daughter’s dolls house we bought her. The furniture was just the right size. Grand-daughter was thrilled to bits. My husband had put them together, glued them for extra strength and painted them various colours – ie bedroom pink, dining room varnished. My husband did think that the furniture would have been difficult for children to put together. She plays with it quite a lot and we gave it to her the christmas before last and the pieces are still all in the right place.

Really good, would definitely recommend. I’ve had do much fun building, painting, decorating and making then pretty. However they haven’t been in my little 5year old sisters doll house yet so don’t know how they will hold up 😊.

“Wooden furniture for Fantasy villa, Great set, for the Quay Victorian house, its ok but its for the doll house of 1/48 “

Fiddly little suckers i broke 2 as i didn’t know my own strength lol. I found them very easy to assemble even with arthritic hands. Most of the time the instructions weren’t needed and they all need gluing as they are fragile. Very therapeutic and ideal to go with tiny dolls houses.

Two little girls had so much fun helping me furnish their little dolls house.

It’s made for an adult or a very carefull child, otherwise the pieces are easily broken. It’s very difficult – even for an adult- to find the pieces and build the furniture. The children had no patience to work on that (5 and 9 years old).

Only was leg snapped and i stuck it back.

This took hours to make up – looks easy at first but some pieces are tricky and the instructions are not that clear – some pieces were rough around the edges and needed sandpaper (more than thhe 1/2′ square that came with it) and some pieces needed glue to hold them together – having said all that, when made up they look ok and its a very clever way of getting lots of furniture. Certainly not for young children to make up though.

I ended up a little disappointed with this kit. I ended up a little disappointed with this kit, but shouldn’t, because of the price. Sheet one was brilliant and all the pieces popped out easy and went together well, but it all started going down-hill from then on. Pieces started to break easy because they hadn’t been cut properly at the factory and i even started to get pieces that weren’t lining up right. After breaking pieces that wouldn’t come out properly, i ended up having to buy another yet to make replacements, which i shouldn’t need to do. That said, when everything goes to plan and the parts are glued together, these do look rather nice, so are clearly good value in that respect. If these are going to be played with, then i recommend gluing these together as i have anyway. My only issue which i`ve yet to discover, i have the matching house to build yet and i`m convinced this furniture will be too big for it, but we`ll see.99, i think this kit is pretty good, but expect to break a few pieces.

Suitable for an older child – or grandparent. I got this for my grandchildrens’ (2 and 4) dolls house.  furniture set – woodcraft construction kiti thought they might be able to help with the assembly before i saw the kit but the construction really is for an older, more dextrous child, say 8 onwards. Having said that, i had a great two days putting all the items together. I glued everything so that they’d stand up to the rigours of small children. There’s some fantastic items: a wooden sink, anyone?. There’s even a pianoit is fiddly, you do need to keep an eye on the diagrams to start with, but eventually it all starts to make sense. It will be wonderful in the dolls house. Beware, it’s slightly smaller than the standard 1/12th scale dolly house furniture, but my babbies will love it.

Easy guide, but some bits where not cut right. Lovely little set of furniture, easy guide, but some bits where not cut right so had to use alot more sandpaper than supplied, had to glue some pieces together, but all in all a very nice set.

Its ok but its for the doll house of 1/48. Its ok but its for the doll house of 1/48 may be as it was too small for my doll house.

I really enjoyed building these sweet little pieces of furniture. They are 1/24 scale and fit my dollhouse with 4-1/2′ to 5′ tall rooms. The piece of sandpaper that came with the kit was rediculously small. You’ll need more (very fine) sandpaper since most of the pieces will have a few rough edges once you punch them out, plus some legs will need to be sanded down so the piece will sit level. As for how easy to punch, some were easy-peasy, and others were very fiddly, mostly because it seems the manufacturer’s die punch must have needed to be sharpened. Some of the pieces got a bit damaged trying to punch them out, and i was extremely careful. I was very disappointed with the bathroom pieces, especially the bathtub. I’m going to have to buy a separate bathroom set. I also was not pleased with the sofa, but i’ve cut out some foam pieces to make a larger, padded sofa. I would have also rather had a refrigerator, washer and dryer rather than the outdoor lounger set, so i’ll have to source those items as well as a decent bathroom. I would recommend keeping all the little pieces you’ve punched out. I managed to craft a little computer and several shelves and other items for around the house out of the waste pieces, including the tiny round pieces which i glued to a button to make a realistic looking plate of scones.

Great value for money and idiot proof instructions. . Bought this for a two yr old girl but the 5yr old boy got great fun out of it also. Instructions were the easiest instructions to follow out of any build yourself item i have ever bought. Every piece had a number and it slotted in to its equal. I put all furniture together in one hour and i must admit i thoroughly enjoyed it. I deducted 1 star for the simple fact that you need glue although this was not stated on the seller description. A small piece of sandpaper comes with it to take of rough edges so perfect considering little hands are playing with it. Press doors open and close and makes item more enjoyable to play with. You can also paint them but do buy good quality paints, item looks good natural aswell. Do buy as the kids have gotten hours of enjoyment and i have gotten hours of peace.

I bought this to go along with a sylvanian families cottage for my 5yr old daughter, as the price for the official furniture is somewhat steep. The set comes as 4 3mm x 235mm x 375mm sheets of plywood and each furniture component is of the push out type. Supplied was the worlds smallest square of sandpaper to smooth away any sharp edges and these were few and far between. The instructions were ‘sparse’ to put it mildly. Each part is drawn on a plan matching those on the plywood and numbered. If two pieces have the same number, then they fit together basically. The way in which the furniture was designed to fit together was a brilliant idea in my opinion. All push fit and almost every piece can be put together without the need for glue. I would so far as to say that they could be used as toys, with a little care.

Great set, for the quay victorian house. Great set , for the quay victorian house.

Exactly what we needed to go in a very small doll’s house made from a kit bought at our local charity shop. The furniture is great for the price – tiny, plentiful and not too difficult to put together once you’ve sorted which pieces belong to which item (would be easier if, on the instruction sheet, a line was drawn round the pieces of each item rather than having them numbered). We glued all the pieces together as we assembled so the furniture is now very sturdy. Next project is to paint everything and make little cushions etc. At that price my two grandsons (3 and 6) can play with the furniture when they come to stay without us worrying about it being damaged. Clever designs – i particularly like the wash basin and the toilet.

It’s cheap, it’s basic, it’s easy to put the bits together. I spent a minute looking at it before i realised (turns it right way up) it was meant to be an upright piano. I’ll use a lot of these furniture items, but modify them with paint, etc. I’m not entirely sure of the scale either. It says 1:24 scale, but the double bed is huge. But i bought a metal bed, dresser, chair, etc at 1:24 scale, and these not only look better, but they are a bit smaller and fit into the house better. Apart from that minor niggle, as a basic starter kit this can’t be faulted.

Amazon have contacted me about this order – it was received and is fine.

I bought this furniture set for my mother as she has a victorian dolls house, we spent 2 days together over christmas along with my nine year old daughter putting the furniture together,it was not hard to do although there are no instructions its very simple to see which piece goes with which. It brough back many happy memories of when i was a child. The furniture is great for someone who enjoys art and craft as it comes in plain wood so you can stain it, paint it or add material to customise it. Once completed it is very sturdy and looks really well made. I was so impressed i have also bough a set for my daughters dolls house and look forward to customising it with her.
